Darlene G. Hofer, 87, of Cuba City, WI passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18th at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City, WI, with Fr. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery in Shullsburg, WI. Family & friends may call on Thursday, October 17th from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI; also on Friday from 10:00 a.m.-10:45a.m. at the church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Darlene was born on January 2, 1937 to Arthur & Florence (Weber) Bauer in Cuba City, WI. She married Lawrence "Larry" G. Hofer on July 13, 1957 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City, WI. She lived in Cuba City most of her life and started a family in Shullsburg and moved back to Cuba City to where she owned and operated Hofer's Café from 1971-1978, along with owning Prospector's Inn. Later in life, she worked as a lunch lady until she retired. Darlene enjoyed sewing, crocheting, movies, and her beloved dogs, but most of all, she enjoyed time with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Darlene is survived by 4 children: Art (Dory) Hofer of Rewey, WI, Allen (Lisa) Hofer of Platteville, WI, Mary (Shawn) Hofer-Furlong of Cuba City, WI and Sarah Hofer of Windsor, WI; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a sister, Helen (Ted) Kearns of Platteville, WI; 6 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces & great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry (March 29, 2021), a daughter, Marlene, a son-in-law, Dennis Gilbertson and a granddaughter, Kari Hofer.

In lieu of plants and flowers, a Darlene G. Hofer Memorial Fund has been established.
