Craig J. Hendrickson, 54, of Cuba City, WI, our wonderful husband, father, son, and friend tragically died in a car accident on Thursday, February 13, 2025. A memorial service for immediate family & friends will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 22nd at the United Methodist Church in Cuba City, WI, with Pastor Carter Jorgensen officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. In accordance with Craig's wishes, a Celebration of Life Gathering will follow the memorial service on Saturday, February 22nd from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Banfield's Swiss Haus in Cuba City, WI, all are welcome to this, please dress casually. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Born April 2 to loving parents Patricia (Pat) Moxness-Weier and David Hendrickson in Platteville, WI. His younger life was spent growing up learning the gift of caring for others from his Mom, and his uncanny ability to be "Mr. Fix-It" on everything from household to cars from his Dad.

He met Kia (Jorgenson) Hendrickson in September of 2000 at a bar (ask her to tell you the story, it's a doozy). On May 17, 2003 they married at the Wiota Lutheran Church. They were blessed with two of the best kids a set of parents could ask for. Lukas, born in 2005 and Camryn, born in 2007. He will also be greatly missed by his fur children- Lucy, Finn, Dezi, Mac, Beau and Goose.

Craig was always the life of the party, and knew someone everywhere he went (much to the chagrin of his kids, although they also secretly loved it). Whether you knew him as Craig, CJ, Dawger, Bear, or Package, he was always there to have fun and make memories. His favorite places to be were on the river or the lakes in Chetek, the beaches of Gulf Shores, driving the roads of Door County, road trips with friends, and most importantly at every event the kids (including nieces, nephews, or "adopted" kids) participated in. He hated to miss anything of theirs, which also included the coaching stints that Kia "voluntold" him for. His friends and family from all walks of his life were very important to him. He thrived on staying in contact with them, as everyone became a part of our family. The stories that came from the time spent with him are epic and sure to make anyone laugh.

Above all else, Craig was a consummate family man. He treasured time with his family- teaching the kids and Kia how to hunt, fish, about home improvement and building things (including DIY projects Kia was always coming up with), changing oil and tires on the cars, and the kids how to make sure their trap guns were always taken care of. He was known for dropping what he was doing to take care of the people in his life, including his parents, in-laws, neighbors and friends. His "now hear me out" moments would always result in some crazy idea, and he put up with Kia's belief that he could fix and build anything, while sighing, just shaking his head and say "I'll figure it out" and he did. Craig was the ultimate Dad, husband, brother, son, friend and neighbor. He always wanted to make memories that we could all cherish and reminisce over for the years to come.

He worked 20 years of his life in the dairy industry, which gave him the chance to meet and develop long lasting friendships with farming families across the state, while also continuing to grow a passion for agriculture, that started at the knee of his Grandpa John (who was one of his favorite people). After some prodding from Kia (because she knew he'd be a great teacher!), he chose to go into the field of Education, which he was doing until his passing. This is where Craig shined. His college students loved his "stories from the farm", and his honesty about the "real" world of work. These students became his kids, and his co-workers his adopted kids and family members. He further supported students by serving as one of the advisors to Ceres Fraternity, and a signing member and alumni of FarmHouse Fraternity. Craig was the most caring, trustworthy, and real person…a legacy that will live on in those were blessed to have met and learned from him.

Craig served his community for the past 13 years as a City Councilman for the City of Cuba City. He dedicated his work on the Council to making Cuba City a better place. His fingerprints can be seen in many of the projects across the city, and while he would never take credit for any of them, we see them every day. While the work and decisions were hard, he knew he always had the support of his fellow council members, law enforcement, and city employees.

He is survived by his wife Kia, and their children Lukas and Camryn, all of Cuba City. His mother and stepfather Pat Moxness-Weier and Bob Weier, of Platteville; his father and stepmom David and JoAnn Hendrickson, of Asbury, IA. Brothers: John Moxness of Colorado Springs, CO; David (Jeni) Moxness, of La Crosse; Sister Lee Ann Hendrickson of Dubuque, IA. Mother and Father-in-law Dean and Chris Jorgenson of South Wayne, Brother-in-law Justin (Sarah) Jorgenson of Prairie du Sac, and Sister-in-law Erica (Christian Amerson) Jorgenson, Phoenix, AZ. Step-siblings Matt (Kira) Weier and Suzanne (Rich) Demeules. His 11 nieces and nephews: Lawson and Lydia Moxness, Tyler, Ryan, Carly and Avery Jorgenson; Jayden Harrison; Logan and Ian Weier; Nicole and Jessica Demeules. Special childhood friends and their families- Carol, Jon, Robin, Scott, Kenda, Shawn, Tammy, Tom, Amy, AJ, Collette, many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, fraternity brothers and sisters who shared countless memories with him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Dolores Margan; paternal grandparents Luther "Slim" and Myrtle Hendrickson, and Elaine Barwick; step-father Tim Moxness, Aunt Vicki Stinson, Uncle Ronnie Hendrickson, and a very special goddaughter, Rilee Schmidt.
