Connie K. Laird, 53, of Platteville, WI, formerly of Shullsburg, WI passed away on Sunday May 1, 2011 at UW-Madison Hospital, Madison, WI. Graveside memorial services will be at 10:30am on Friday, May 6 at Council Hill Cemetery, Council Hill, IL, with Pastor Ed Jones officiating. The Haudenshield Funeral home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family. Connie was born on June 10, 1957 to Cletus & Aline (McCaleb) Laird in Cuba City, WI. She was a graduate of Shullsburg High School. She worked for Lafayette County Manor, Swiss Colony in Monroe, WI and Advance Transformer in Platteville, WI. Connie enjoyed dancing, baking, helping other people, cats, horses and company of friends and family. She had a heart of gold, she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Connie is survived by her brother, Randy (Donna) Laird of Shullsburg, WI; 3 nephews: Ryley & Colton Laird of Shullsburg, WI and Brad Laird of Salt Lake City, UT; aunts & uncles: Ernie (Charlotte) Laird & their children of Shullsburg, WI, Betty(Bob) Speaker-Kempert & their children of Galena, IL, Aunt Toby Ohms-Haffele of Freeport, IL; special friends Connie & James, along with many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Darell, grandparents Ralph & Lillian Laird, and Mr. & Mrs. McCaleb. In lieu of flowers a Connie K. Laird Memorial Fund has been established.
