Cleone J. Brewer, 80, of Cuba City, WI passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at home. Services will be at 11am on Friday, May 9th at United Methodist Church in Cuba City, WI with Pastor Dan Verdegan officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call from 4pm - 8pm on Thursday, May 8th at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI and on Friday, May 9th from 10am until time of service at the church. Cleone was born on February 13, 1934 to Robert & Krete (Strong) Ostrander in Cochrane, WI. She graduated from Lancaster High School. She married Donald G. Brewer on August 14, 1953 in Lancaster, WI. She worked as a cashier for B & B Oil in Cuba City, WI. She was a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. Cleone enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, hunting and time spent with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Cleone is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Donald; a daughter, Debra (Ted) Short of Osseo, WI; a son, David Brewer of Madison, WI; 5 grandchildren: Zachary (Lee Ann) Short of Sun Prairie, WI; Reed (Brittany) Short of Lexington, KY, Amanda Brewer, Tanya Brewer and Sara Harris all of Lancaster, WI; nieces: Dayna (Steve) Wilberding, Darcy (Robert) Dekeyser, Shawn (Robert) Hammill; nephew: Robert (Francie) Ostrander; a great granddaughter, Stella Short; 3 sisters-in-law: Betty Ostrander, Judith Vogel & Linda Ralph; 1 brother-in-law: Robert Brewer. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Bruce and a brother, Robert Ostrander. In lieu of flowers a Cleone J. Brewer Memorial Fund has been established.
