Obituary

Berneita A. Digman, 90, of Cuba City, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Park Place Assisted Living Center in Platteville, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26th at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Hazel Green, WI; with Fr. Randy Timmerman & Fr. Joseph Bellamkonda officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Francis de Sales Church Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, November 25th from 4:00 pm – 7:00 p.m. at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI; also on Wednesday, November 26th from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Bernie was born on January 8, 1935 to Edward & Regina (Schroeder) Langmeier in Potosi, WI. She attended a one-room schoolhouse until 5th grade in Benton, WI and later upgraded to St. Mary's Catholic School in East Dubuque, IL. She married Edwin J. Digman on June 25, 1957 in East Dubuque, IL. Together, Bernie & Ed ran their family farm for 48 years and later built their home outside Cuba City, WI. She worked for over 10 years in the bakery/deli department for Sentry Foods (Thompson's IGA) in Cuba City, WI. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, where she was the treasurer of the Ladies Sodality Society, working many funeral luncheons. Bernie was a huge Chicago Cubs fan, loved a good game of euchre, frequent trips to the casino and spending time with her family & friends. After losing her husband, she found a new best friend in her dog, Tuffy. Side-by-side they ventured through the rest of her days together. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and dear friend to all that knew and loved her. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.

Bernie is survived by her 9 children: Diane Gile of Scales Mound, IL, Nancy (Don) Salzmann of Platteville, WI, Tom (Donna) Digman, Terry (Holly) Digman, Bill (Julie) Digman all of Cuba City, WI, Mary Lou (Mark) Kant of Janesville, WI, Debbie (Tom) Wilkinson of Boscobel, WI, Pat (Kim) Digman of Scales Mound, IL and Kevin (Karen) Digman of Poynette WI; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren;; 4 sisters: Sally Dietzel of Dickeyville, WI, Berneice Pickel of Kieler, WI, Janilda (Merlin) Busch of Dickeyville, WI and Jean Herbst of Kieler, WI; a brother, Sylvester (Joyce) Langmeier of Cuba City, WI; her beloved dog, Tuffy; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Langmeier, a brother-in-law, Joe Timmerman; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin (February 11, 2009) a daughter, Mary Jo (Feb. 1962), a son-in-law, Gary Gile, a grandson, Tyler Digman, 2 brothers, Francis Langmeier & Donald Langmeier, Sr., 4 sisters: Mary Ann Langmeier, Leila Langmeier, Harriet Freese and Geri Timmerman, along with many brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law.

In lieu of plants & flowers, a Berneita A. Digman Memorial Fund has been established.
