Bernadine "Bunnie" Marcella Helbing, 91, of Cuba City, WI, formerly of Bloomington, WI passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Monday, December 30, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4th at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dickeyville, WI, with Fr. Bernard Rott officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends may call on Saturday, January 4th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Bunnie was born on March 21, 1933 to Albert & Mildred (Wiest) Ertz in Beetown, WI. She married Merlin E. Helbing on July 8, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington, WI. She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Bunnie enjoyed baking, church activities, watching tv episodes of Gunsmoke, but most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Bunnie is survived by 4 children: Alan Helbing, Sandy (Gerry) Eggers, both of Cuba City, WI, Pat (Wayne) Runde of La Crosse, WI and Pam (Dave) Fischer of Janesville, WI; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 3 siblings: Rosie (Stanley) Miles, Jane (Jack) Trumm and Eugene (Georgia) Ertz; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Ertz; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Merlin (Dec. 27, 2010), a grandson, Joshua Eggers, a brother, Albert Ertz Jr. and a sister, Mary (Zeke) Konichek.

In lieu of plants and flowers, a Bernadine Marcella "Bunnie" Helbing Memorial Fund has been established.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque, especially to Andy & Jessica, also to Kristie Willis and staff at Medical Associates for their kindness and compassion for the past several years.
