Darlene P. Jessen, 71, of Cuba City, WI passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Southwest Health Center Hospital in Platteville, WI. Services will be at 11am on Saturday, April 21, at the United Methodist Church in Cuba City, WI with Pastor Debbie Pimm officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cuba City, WI. Friends may call on Saturday, April 21 from 9am till time of service at the church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving this family. Darlene was born on September 22, 1940 to Henry & Cora Grace (Butson) Jessen at the family home in rural Cuba City, WI. She was a graduate of Cuba City High School. Darlene worked for the Tri-Country Press for 34 years. She enjoyed crafts, history, flowers, puzzles, crossword puzzles, reading, genealogy and bible study. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Darlene is survived by a sister, Dorothy (Clifford) Brown of Cuba City, WI; a brother, Carl (Helen) Jessen of Platteville, WI; 8 nieces: Cheryl (Erving) Olson, Lori Brown, Lisa (Marc) Cory, Glenda Jessen, Brenda Jessen, Carla (Joe) Kaiser, Marcia (Bruce) Kyes and Karen Jessen; 3 nephews: Brian Jessen, David (Lorraine) Wackershauser and Thomas (Vienna) Wackershauser. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Emerson, a sister, Helene Wackershauser and a nephew, Gary Jessen. In lieu of flowers a Darlene P. Jessen Memorial Fund has been established.
